Youth are drivers of families' economy

Youth empowerment for children welfare

Our priority: Youth empowerment.

CEDC works collaboratively with Youth within Ipala, Nzuguni and Mtumba wards. This has transformed them from staying idle and well committed in economic production.

In today's world, youth are the drivers of families' welfare, in particular the nation. They are strong enough to produce. But, they are mainly forgotten amongst risky groups like children, women, elders and girls. If well empowered through behaviour change mindset and economically would eradicate sex workers, early marriage and drug addicts to mention a few. Moreover they are energetically supportive to children development in accessing education and health services. Thus empowering has multiple benefits to them, children, elders and the nation as a whole.

Community's Expertise for Development Contributions (CEDC) contributes on youth development by:

  • Enhancing programs to increase employment opportunities through training, loans, networks, value chains, entrepreneurship information and business counselling services.
  • Fostering education programs to share information on reproductive health, life skills, livelihoods, HIV prevention, and research and leadership development.
  • Empowering Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYWs) on sexual and reproductive health rights, life skills and economic development for their welfare.
  • Reinforcing youth behaviour change to positive perspectives for their sustainable development and welfare.
  • Improving the lives of girls in schools to lessen dropping out and out-of-school girls
  • Incubating graduates Internship Programs to prepare interns to work on the business development processes (eg Ideation and team formation )

The Community's Expertise for Development Contributions (CEDC) was founded in 2018, inspired by a vision accompanied by the main objective where children are the target group and agents of change in the communities they live.
