We are a non-profit organization contributing upon community development to the neediest, amongst the marginalized groups in the societies. Our major focus is child wellbeing whose approach is to initiate programs integrated to positive impacts for the welfare of the children.

Who we are

Since its inception in 2018, Community's Expertise for Development Contributions (CEDC) has well managed to build trust in the communities and increased its capacity to implement programs in nutshell. Indeed it has strengthened organization systems including formulation of the policies, proposals write ups to donors overseas and partners networking.

Throughout one year of implementation, it is the founders and volunteers good will to support the organization in cash and in kind. We have identified 280 most vulnerable children and raised proposals to effectively enable them access quality education and health services. Our vision is to reach more than one million most vulnerable children in the rural communities. Besides, the eradication of extreme poverty through initiative projects to the affected households is amongst the approaches of the organization. We have launched the organ so named 'Child Voice Platform' whose aim is to raise voice to the communities versus any form of violence to the children including stigma and discrimination. And mainly to confidently enable children themselves to stand, protect and defend against any child abuse.

Ensure every child reaching his/her dream and fruitfully being the agent of change to any unprivileged group in the community for social well-being.

Focus Areas

Capacity building

The programme aims to realize four interrelated outcomes with their interconnected pathways, which are:

  • By 2021, enhanced Community's Expertise for Development Contributions marketing through networking partners both inland and outside the country for effective projects implementation.
  • By 2021, initiated projects reflecting rural communities in the entire Dodoma region for the wellbeing of the children in area we work.
  • By 2021, enhanced poor households with most vulnerable children access basic needs including education and health services in the areas we work.
  • By 2021, empowered women to eradicate lives challenges including abstaining from violence

Livelihoods and Markets

The programme aims to realize three interrelated outcomes with their interconnected pathways. Our work in this area has three key objectives:

  1. Reinforce women entrepreneurs having secured greater access to markets and livelihood assets and resources.
  2. Enabling poor households well involved in livelihoods practices for both nutrition and poverty alleviation for child wellbeing.
  3. Ensure all inclusive development to income generating activities groups for child wellbeing attainment.

Institutional Development

Our goal is to continue strengthening the organization through personnel expertise on knowledge and skills in the areas of financial management, human resources management, records management, result dissemination, risk management, and monitoring & evaluation. The overall foresight hope by 2021 achievement is to have serviced more than 500 most vulnerable children in the country. It is our belief that the strengthened infant organization will be in optimum condition to deliver superbly and quality services to the communities in compliance with the donor requirements.

Capacity development

Our goal is to ensure neediest groups in the communities really eradicate poverty through raised innovative programs in liaison with community leaders for the wellbeing of the children. Indeed this will be achieved through mentorship trainings to impact knowledge and skills. CEDC's capacity development framework includes six elements namely Mission, Vision and Strategy, Strategic Relationships, Governance and Leadership, Resource Development, Service Delivery and Impact and Internal Operations and Management
