Stakeholders' Involvement Enhanced

The Community's Expertise for Development Contributions in this strategic area is to see that local government authorities (LGA's) deliver improved quality services to citizens. This is expected to be achieved through projects that put emphasis on Social Accountability Monitoring, public expenditure tracking and those on citizen engagements in planning, budgeting and policy influencing.

The notable approaches used to achieve the stated objective involve the use of tools such as:

  1. Public Expenditure Tracking Surveys (PETs)
  2. Social Accountability Monitoring (SAM) as social audit toolshed
  3. Participatory methodologies for effective engaging citizen in planning and budgeting Therefore it is expected that collaborative efforts among civil society organizations (CSOs), citizens and other stakeholders will in turn influence the LGAs to adhere on transparency and accountability as well as respect and uphold the rule of law and procedures. This and making sure that citizens are involved in decision making processes on resources use and priorities setting will realize effective public service delivery.


The Community's Expertise for Development Contributions (CEDC) was founded in 2018, inspired by a vision accompanied by the main objective where children are the target group and agents of change in the communities they live.
